• It doesn’t really pick up that much noise from the back so as long as the front of the mic is facing away from the fan you should be fine

• The mic can pick up a lot of quieter sounds but you should be able to use a separate software to adjust input volume and use noise reduction. On windows you can also change the input volume directly in sound settings.
