It does have a garden hose attachment that circumvents the reservoir.

The unit comes with a collection tray that will collect water until it reaches a certain amount. Then the machine turns off.

There is an optional adapter provided which bypasses the tank and drains the water directly into your hose using a fitting mounted on the back of the dehumidifier's housing. I have no way to measure the DB level, but it seems that the noise level is about average for a new dehumidifier. It's definitely quieter than my old Montgomery Ward unit.
