No. Just plug it into the back of your TV, plug it in the wall. Go into setting on TV & look for the ICON with a satellite dish or a cable. Click on that and it gives you some options for how you want to view. You want to find one that says AIR since this is an airwaves antenna. You may need to click on CABLE, then arrow over to AIR. Then set it to scan for channels.
