WIll my original key fab still work after installation? My wife had remote start on her last car but it was purchased with it. the remote had messed up the old key fab. I was curious if the installation messes with the original fab or a new one is added for start?

I have a 2011 Sentra with keyless entry, my remote start is the Viper 2-way system (not sure if this makes any difference). My key fob works in conjunction with it perfectly. I can start it while I'm in the store then come outside and hit panic button to beacon me to the target. Horn still blows when I lock it. All good over here.

I think you need to bring all of the key fabs when your program the remote start to with new immobilizer (basically a key fob inside your car). Otherwise only those that they program will work. I know that's how it works with my car (Lexus RX)

If your remote is programmable it shouldn't cause problems. It just has to be reprogrammed.
