Resident Evil Requiem = brand‑new story + brand‑new characters (Grace) + returning characters (Leon) + new locations + new gameplay structure. It does reference past lore (like Alyssa Ashcroft from Resident Evil Outbreak), but it is not a retelling of any previous game. Resident Evil Requiem takes place 30 years after the destruction of Raccoon City, which canonically occurred in 1998 during the events of Resident Evil 2 and 3.
