The answer is yes to both of your questions. Im sure there must be a setting if you want it to turn off automatically though.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.YES IT DOES STAY ON, IT MIGHT RUN DOWN YOUR BATTERY OVER A LONG PERIOD. YOU CAN MANUALLY TURN IT OFF. I RETURNED V3 BY REXING BECAUSE AN OPERATION MANUAL WAS INCLUDED AND THE HELP CENTER WAS NOT MUCH HELP. I LIKE TO HAVE A MANUAL FOR QUICK REFERENCE, THOUGH STILL A GOOD DASH CAM, BUT FOR HALF THE PRICE I PURCHASED THE C2 BY PRUVEEO, AND RATED #7 OUT OF THE TOP 10 DASH CAMS, THE V3 WAS NOT ONE OF THEM. THE C2 DASH CAM WILL ALSO RECORD BOTH DASH AND CABIN IN FHD-1080P AT THE SAME TIME AT 30FPS, THE V3 WILL ONLY RECORD BOTH IN HD-720P AND IT ONLY AS A 1S, 2S OR 3S LOOP RECORD OPTION. THE C2 WILL LOOP RECORD IN 3M, 10, OR 30-MINUTES. DON'T KNOW WHY ANYONE WOULD WANT TO LOOP RECORD IN 1-SECOND INTERVALS. C2 AS EVERYTHING THE V3 HAS EXCEPT FOR GPS AND BACKUP CAM, BUT ARE OPTIONAL ADD-ONS. ALSO THE V3 WILL TAKE A 128G SD CARD, THE C2 WILL ONLY TAKE A 32G SD CARD, THE ONLY THING I DON'T LIKE ABOUT THE C2 DASH CAM.
