Hello mintzeyy, The RIG 900 Max does not need the full charging station nearby to play wirelessly. The USB-A wireless transmitter that is plugged into the multi-function base station can be removed by sliding it in a horizontal plane to remove it from the base. Be careful not to pull up on it as it may bend the USB plug. Then the wireless transmitter can be plugged into your console or PC for wireless connection with the headset and the charging base station can be placed anywhere you like. This transmitter operates on lag-free 2.4Ghz digital RF wireless. It corresponds to the "Game" setting in the RIG 900 Max dual-wireless settings. When you press the top button on the left earcup, it will cycle through "Dual" (both 2.4GHz and Bluetooth), "Game" (just 2.4GHz via wireless transmitter) or "Bluetooth" (for just Bluetooth). If you don't want to use Bluetooth at all, set it to "Game". When it is set on Dual, you can use the transmitter for wireless connection to console or PC and still receive call notifications from a smartphone, but please note that will pause game audio. We hope that helps. Thank you for choosing RIG gaming audio from Nacon.
