Does the subscription notify the police department if someone breaks in? Or does this alarm system just make noise if the house is broken into? null

Self monitoring just makes noise and alerts you. You would then call the police incase of a break in ... or You can pay 10$ a month for professional monitoring and police will roll ... its cheaper than other security systems and it has a cellular backup incase your internet goes down... basically it's always online
