Hello, Great question. No, the Ring Alarm Motion Detector (2nd Gen) will not work as a standalone product. The Ring Alarm Motion Detector connects to your Ring Alarm and is designed to monitor a room or area inside your home for heat and movement. When armed, the motion detector will trigger your Ring Alarm when heat and movement are detected.
