Hi Consentida. Good question. The Ring Alarm Motion Detector is designed to monitor a room or area inside your home for heat and movement. When armed, the Motion Detector will trigger your Ring Alarm when heat and movement are detected. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The base unit is very loud; louder than our old legacy ADT system. I have one hearing impaired family member and they can hear it no problem even from a couple of rooms away.
