I was able to grab one from a recent restock about 2 weeks ago. I signed up my email to receive alerts when the joy cons came back in stock, and this just so happened to come back into stock at the same time.

My advice is to ask a store rep when they get their shipments and check on those days. You may also consider doing the same thing at Gamestop and local game stores. Big block stores (Walmart, Target, etc) are a waste of time unless you stumble upon them. Good luck!
