I have a Floodlight Cam connected to our Wi-Fi. It needs regular household power, 120 VAC, 60 Hz, to work. The video, sound and remote control will require a Wi-Fi network that has an adequate signal where the Ring device will be installed.

The fixture must be connected to 110AC to operate. If on a switch (like for an existing flood light being replaced), then the switch must be ON for the unit to work. The camera must connect to your WiFi network to send video/audio back to Ring servers or your phone on the WiFi. When I installed the doorbell, it had a hard time keeping a connection with my stock router from the cable company. We replaced the cheap cable router with an AC3200 device capable of beamforming, which SIGNIFICANTLY increases range and device uptime, especially if you have lots of devices on you home WiFi. Partner with a Connected Home specialist inside your local Best Buy if this seems overwhelming.
