I can see about 50 feet at night with my usual lights on plus the camera light however it would hard to identify a person by facial recognition. I was just watching a kitty cat about 20 feet away that is black with white feet.

With the Color Night Vision feature, objects that are close to the camera get a much higher concentration of infrared illumination from the camera and may appear gray when compared with objects further away where the light has diffused a bit. Areas too dark to be seen in ambient light will still be displayed in black and white.
