I have no wifi at this vacation home and only go through the hotspot on my cell phone for wifi. Can that still work? null

Ring devices are connected via a LOCAL router WIFI and do not work via HOTSPOTS.
The internet is how the alerts are sent to your device and the recordings are sent to the RING cloud service so you can access them.

Always nice to have views in remote locations...
