Depends on your needs. If you are placing it where an existing light is, then you can likely do it yourself. We had an electrician install one of ours since a new line had to be run to the location where we wished to place it.

Yes, unless you already have 110v circuits for outdoor lights. I paid an electrician $500 to run wires for two of these units. Since neither worked right, I took them out and now have the wiring in place for some other type of security lighting for the future.

If you are replacing and existing light I would say no. Just turn off the power remove the existing light and hook up the new one per the instructions. If you have no electricity where you want to install it then I would say yes. The unit requires electricity to operate.

Not if you have the correct mount (box) already wired and electrical knowledge and power turned off. If not then I'd hire an electrician to avoid damage and or bodily harm.
