Can the floodlight cam use a battery null

Nope. These are electrical only. They do offer a similar camera with built in LED lighting on the sides that operates on a battery - however it did not offer nearly enough light for the area in which I wanted to cover after dark - it might be okay for a small porch or deck... I got two of these with the floodlights and it covers my entire backyard nicely.

This model of Ring Floodlight requires a hardwired, unswitched 120VAC power source and therefore can NOT operate from a battery.
