Questiondoes the camera pick up motion thru a window . so if I have the camera inside facing outside will it pick up the motion outside and record it.

- Answer Hello snowjob, Good question! Ring battery products “see” the world through a network of three linked passive infrared (PIR) sensors. These are heat sensors that detect motion by monitoring heat within the detection area. Since people are hotter than the surrounding areas, as a person enters the detection area, the heat measurements change. The motion sensors register this change as movement and send out an alert. Windows generally block heat sources. Since the Ring device uses PIR (Passive Infrared) to detect motion, the Ring device will not be able to detect the motion very well through a window. - Answer Yes it can. That is what I did. I suggest using two batteries with the solar panel. Depending on the sensitivity of your settings, will determine how fast they drain. Also drains faster in colder weather. Solar panel makes everything last a lot longer.

- Answer Echo dot is Google device while Ring is an Amazon now. They aren't compatible. You are given 30 day window to try Ring saving videos and after that need a subscription unless you purchase their storage device for home security system they offer. Then it saves to a drive instead.

QuestionI have a 5Ghz router not a 2.4. Does this camera work with it? I have order others and none have worked because they all only work on the 2.4Ghz. I really want a good wireless camera. But need it to work on the 5Ghz, since that's all I have.
