“What’s the advantage to having 2 battery packs? There’s a place for a right battery pack and left battery pack but it only comes with one pack. I purchased an extra pack for each unit. Do both lights & camera run off one battery pack?”

I first started with 1 battery. Now that I have 2, I find myself having to take out the battery to charge less than when I was only using 1.

You are correct that the Spotlight Cam will utilize one battery, but the advantage to having a second battery is that the second battery will act as a back-up. Only one charged battery is necessary for the Spotlight Cam to function, but you can charge both batteries and install them since there is a slot for both. Best wishes, Ashley from Ring.
