• Hi Guyb, Thanks for reaching out. Ring Spotlight Cam can be mounted anywhere on a wall, although the Ring Spotlight Cam - Wired will need to be within plug-in distance to a wall outlet. Additionally, for the Floodlight Cam, nine feet (three meters) off the ground is the optimal height to get the best range of the motion detector. With the motion detector parallel to the ground, Floodlight Cam optimized for detecting human-sized objects up to 30 feet (10 meters) away.
