- Answer I have not had to find out about the return policy, but I understand from others that it is a "no question" return policy. No penalties or added shipping either. There Customer Service is GREAT.

QuestionI'm thinking of purchasing this for an apartment door. Since it is for an apartment can it be installed with "Command Strips"? There is currently not a doorbell do I need to purchase the chime too?

- Answer no, you don't need the chime, it notifies you on your cell phone when there is motion or when someone presses the button. However, It might drive your crazy if there is a lot of traffic passing in front of your door. there is no on/off switch.

QuestionIt looks like I need to turn on "location service" to set up the ring app. Question ... once the app is loaded and working to my phone can i turn OFF the location service AND the app will keep working???

QuestionCan the doorbell be mounted on vinyl siding?

- Answer Yes, we we're able to mount it on vinyl siding. However, about 50% of it stuck off of the bottom because of how our vinyl siding is, so I was only able to screw it in with 2 screws. You could build a shim to go underneath the part that hangs over if you were concerned with someone coming up and ripping it off.

- Answer There was recently gunshots near our house and my neighbor across the street mentioned the exact words we exchanged inside the house when saying that we maybe should call the police, if the ring doorbells is pointed at your house even 20 ft away it can still hear through a thin wall.

QuestionWe have a metal door and frame. Can we install the ring on it?

- Answer There are other accessories that the ring website sells for that type of hardware. The included hardware is really only for wood and mortar. So you technically can screw it into metal but it will damage it. I think they sell sticky pads for that kind of hardware though!

QuestionHow do i remove the mounting bracket from the device...i just received mine and do not want to damage it as there are no instructions included other than how to set it up!

- Answer Assuming that the screws are not in place (if they are, take them out, for God's sake), you just have to work at it. Get someone with strong thumbnails and strong hands to pry it off for you. That's the technique I used when I (a first-timer) couldn't get the damned thing off myself. Once you've done it once, you won't be so concerned that you're doing something wrong. The instruction booklet should address this, but doesn't.
