You can hook it up to an existing doorbell ringer. This also gives you power to the device so you don't have to keep recharging it. Otherwise you will get notifications on your phone through the app.

Hi Will,

If you hardwire your Ring doorbell to your existing doorbell, it will ring inside the house. If you are not connecting to your existing doorbell wiring, you can purchase the Ring Chime which will allow you to get Ring notifications anywhere in your home. I hope this helps.
