• Yes the cámara records everything you just have to choice to pay $3 or $10 after you free trial ends so you can go back to the recording

• It only records when there is motion but you can check out the "live view" whenever you want to see what's going on. You can pay $10 to save the recorded videos and they are there forever, I think.
