You don’t need a door just charge the ring battery
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it can be used with or without existing doorbell. If without, it will run on internal battery system that will need to be periodically removed and charged. It comes with short cable that connects to the back via USB port. I have to charge mine about every 8 weeks. But, I just bought the additional solar box that mounts between house and doorbell that is promoted as never requiring me to remove and charge again. Hoping that is true! I also have additional chime box which plugs in house. I can hear if someone rings any of the devices no matter if they are wired or unwired to the prior doorbell system.
