I can hear comversations in my house when I check in even though the people are not too close to the door.Why is this? null

I am not an expert but it sounds like you ring is set to live and is picking up ambient noises.

You probably have to set the feet function on your device . My device is set up for five feet sometimes I see my neighbors car when she leaves. The device is very sensitive!!!

Because the mike on the doorbell is really sensitive. Any thing within 10ft can be heard.

Maureen, it appears the microphone in the Ring Doorbell is fairly sensitive. It will probably pick up a conversation from inside the house if the door is open to the screen door. I know when I have the radio on in my house and the door open I can check Live View and hear the radio, though not very loudly.
