Confused if this one I just purchase needs to be hard wired? Says wired camera connection null

Hi Aj,

The Ring Video Doorbell connects to existing doorbell wiring or runs off the built-in rechargeable battery. If you plan to hardwire your Ring Doorbell, keep in mind Ring Doorbell is compatible with most mechanical or digital doorbell kits that use transformers between 8 and 24 volts AC. DC transformers are not supported.

This model can be hardwired or run off the battery. I would recommend hardwire, because with this model you have to take the entire thing off the wall to charge the battery.

This model I purchased as well. It has a rechargeable battery that the manual states will last for 2-3 months. The baseplate that attaches to the wall also has contacts by which you can wire your existing 8-24volt doorbell wiring too which will negate the need to every charge the battery. Hopefully this answers your question
