I have already had a cheaper model quit after a short time, I think couldn't stand up to the direct west sun where a metal unit can get too hot to touch. Any experience with this unit in the hot sun? null

Since installing our unit on 8/3/2019 on our door that faces west we have not had any problems or issues with our unit.

We have one (I think we got that one last December) that is in the direct sun. There is no eve or awning giving it a break from the sun and weather. It has been working fine for 9 plus month so far. The product looks to be well made.
