• This system does not work well in cold weather. The battery has to be recharged regularly, even if it is hard wired.

• Both of mine are outside. It rains on them. The humidity is terrible here - 99 degrees most of the summer; but the view is still crystal clear. I have to wipe the back one off once in a while is all I do.
