• You do have to subscribe! However you will not be able to View any videos after the first free month. It's $3 a month or $30 for the whole year! Believe me it's worth it

• Hi Billy, The Ring Protect Plus plan is completely optional and may be canceled at any time. However, without a Ring Protect Plus plan, your Ring Alarm System will only send alerts to your smartphone and/or email and will not call authorities. In addition, without a Protect plan, Ring videos will not be recorded and saved to your account and you will only be able to view your camera’s live video feed. I hope this helps!
