• You don't have to have a working doorbell for Ring to work. It has its own battery or can be hard wired to an existing doorbell.

• You can have either. You can hook it up to an existing hardwired door bell or you can just install the doorbell that runs off it’s own battery and they provide everything to charge it when the battery gets low
