It picks up motion, so it will start recoding and send you a text when any motion is detected. You are able to set the sensitivity, so you will not get notified every time a car drives by if you don’t want to receive notifications that often.

yes the door has sensors so anytime somebody walks by it or near it activates the sensors and there's two notifications one for sensors and notifies you that somebody's near your door and then there's one there's some of that rings your doorbell you get a notification for that so there's two separate notifications
