Yes.and you can answer from anywhere AND see who you talking to.

If you get their plug in chime it will ring through that and your connected devices.

You can hook it to your own doorbell existing 2 low voltage wires at your door, and it will ring your own existing doorbell also. Or..you can buy the Chime or Chime Pro and plug them in any outlet in your home and it will make an electronic chime noise of your choice. But before you buy, make sure you read my review and 1 star rating closely.

Great question.

If you do not hardwire your Ring Video Doorbell to your pre- existing doorbell you will only hear your device ring through your Ring app on your smartphone. We do, however, have a Ring Chime. Ring Chime is a wireless notification device that can connect to all of your Ring devices. Simply plug it into a wall socket, connect it through the Ring app and you'll get Ring notifications anywhere in your home, even if you're not near your phone. It does make a sound which can be changed, much like a cell phone ring. It can also be turned off and has volume adjust from the app.
