Good question. The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) can be hardwired to an existing doorbell system or transformer with 8–24 VAC, 40 VA max, and 50/60 Hz for continuous charging. However, it does have a built-in rechargeable battery pack and does not require a hardwired connection.
