It is possible, but then you would be able to catch them Red handed because it takes a little effort to remove the screws.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.They can pop it off whether or not it's hard wired. To remove it properly, it takes a special, ultra-small torx bit. But the bracket is just plastic and probably easy to break off. The unit records to the web though and has an internal battery, so if it triggers (I doubt mine would based on my experiences) it would still log it to the web. I also think that if it's stolen, ring will replace it free when you provide a police report.

If someone does attempt to damage your Ring doorbell, the motion-activated camera will capture a video of them doing so, and you'll be able to use that as video evidence for a police report.
