• This model actually has 4 tuners. That's how it can record up to 4 shows (or record 3 while you watch a 4th).

• The tuners are built into the unit. Hook up OTA antenna, hook TiVo to a tv input, follow instructions to scan for channels ......should work...it does the work for you.
