No, it cannot. This model is OTA-only. OTA stands for "Over The Air". This model doesn't include a cable-card slot. One of the people who previously answered this question gave a misleading answer. There are TiVos that exist which allow you add a cable card (and often a tuning adapter), which can typically be obtained from your cable company for between $2 - $8 /mo from your cable company. You aren't required to use your cable company's box. But this TiVo isn't one of those models.
