• I do not think it will play DVDs. There are no disc slots on the TIVO device. We have a separate Blue Ray disc player. We do use the TIVO remote to select the input, and to control TIVO and regular TV programs,but have to use the Blueray disc remote to play the discs.

• There is a HDMI outlet that should allow you to plug in a DVD. I found the TIVO customer support to be excellent and you can get their contsct info from Google.
