You can use an HDMI if the TV has one and so does the stereo. Or you can use an audio out to audio in if that's what you have on the TV and the stereo.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you have legacy equipment, then you must use RCA interconnects. If your Samsung is not old, then it’s going to have at least three different options to connect, including HDMI. The limiting factor will the be what your Sony receiver will accept.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You have not described ins and outs of either item. Best choice is definitely optical if your receiver has that input. Some modern TVs do not have RCA outs. If you have a cable box, you might use that as your input but it will not provide audio for streaming services. Bottom line, optical gives you the most information, but any option that takes audio out of monitor to an audio in of your receiver is acceptable.
