Your issue isn’t that you need a “special splitter” — it’s that the smart TV’s tuner is less tolerant of weak signals. The fix is usually: - Upgrade to RG6 coax - Use a high‑quality splitter - Add a distribution amplifier if needed That way, all TVs — old and new — get a strong, clean signal from your attic antenna.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have non smart JVC, Smart TCL, Smart and Non Smart Samsungs receiving different channels line up. I found out reception problems is the OTA station's towers locations and TVs OS,not my hardware. Best performer/receiving TV is my Smart Samsung catching most of local OTA HD stations using my outdoor antenna. Samsung's Operating System /hardware outperform all the other TVs in my home. My antenna is grounded and about 20 ft hight, my locations is kind of elevated, no structures/buildings other than trees interfering the signals coming from about 30 miles. Local ABC,NBC, CBS,FOX towers grouped in one area, PBS a little separated. It took a while to orient my antenna in order to get the most of them. Sometimes weather does affect reception and one of the stations start pixeling but not terrible, I only watch news to keep informed and watch available OTA sports.
