How do I connect this cable to my Tv or cable box or to the home theater system to hear the tv null

You connect your cable box to the TV the same way as normal. When you connect this to the TV then to the sound bar the TV sound will go through the sound bar not the tv.

It’s plug and play on some device, my sound bar pick it up and my tv had to go to settings and change it

It depends on your TV model. There is a selection in Samsung TV settings to change the audio out on the TV from speaker to optical.

You must have optical connections in both your TV and stereo receiver/ soundbar. Simply connect the receiver to the TV using the optical connnections.

The back of your TV should have and Audio Output port. One end goes in there. On the stereo one of the media choices (SAT, TV, DVD...) should have an audio in. Connect the other end there. You may have to program your stereo to use the optical audio port for the media choice you plugged it into.

You should see a red light coming out of your TV/ cable box ( it says output/out). I connected mine to the cable box. Then you plug it into your input on the surround sound system.

Check to see if you have fiber optic capacity on cable box and television. I f yes to both, just plug and play. Check settings on tv and verify output.

Look for the writing on the back on your units/read the set up instructions and plug it in.If you can't screw in a light bulb then don't attempt ..
