“most articulating mounts don't hold the tv very close to the wall when the tv is NOT tilted. When I'm using the tv mounted flat, I don't want it sticking out so that I see cables when looking down the wall in a side view. how close does is tv to wall?”

You could try to put the cables through a plastic cable management system. Maybe that would help. David M. - Rocketfish Support
