• No, this TV Wall Mount was not designed for 85" TVs.

• Probably not. The wall mount hardware is strong enough but it will only span one wall stud. You will be better off with a different model that is at least able to be screwed in to the two wall studs, usually 24 inches apart. This model of wall mount does not do that.
