Yes, due to it's weight I purchased larger screws /anchors, and It was still way to heavy for my wall. It caused a large rip in my drywall without even attaching the TV. If you can locate both studs within the wall for each end (without making it uneven) you should be good. The mounting plate is so wide, I could only attach one side of this mount to wall stud.
