was it a rocketfish device? i was worried about that with my amp. but no problems have been detected. I have hooked it up to a pioneer , a relic tecnique from the 70's and now irs on my integra and its has been pretty flawless and the sound is very clean and crisp. no humming of other issues. although I did finally have to hook it up to the amplifier for the power source, as their isn't an external power switch for the sending unit. hope this helps
