Is there a fee to set the Roku 2. I was told there was a $89 fee to set it up.

No there is not a Fee. They do want a credit card number, But I just use a Debit card I got at Walmart. as long as it has $1 on it your good. They want this in case you buy some games or other apps from there store. You have several options you can set to prevent someone in the house from doing this. All off the Apps I have are free. you will have to open accounts at netflix HBOGO or Amazon instant video if you want to use them. They all have a 30 trial so I would go with that until you find one you like. I have the 3 above but had those account prior to get the Roku 2. There are a number of sites that have free videos such as CBS TBS youtube, PBS and Crackle. have them also.
One point the Roku 2 is the same box inside as the Roku 3. the difference is the remote has voice and an headphone so unless you plan on using them all the time dont bother with the 3 and save $30 -$40 bucks

If you mean to start using Roku, no. I don't know if there's a trip charge if Best Buy will have to come to your home to set it up. That will be a question for Best Buy to answer but for you to start enjoying Roku no setup fee once you buy the little box.

No fee to set it up just a fee for any services you decide to enroll in. I signed up for Hulu Plus but that's the only fee I pay (7.99/month). For example Youtube videos incur no cost (after your initial purchase cost of the Roku and of course your normal internet provider fee)

No you just buy the box. Certain channels require subscriptions, like Netflix, but there's no setup fees or anything

Roku unit only cost the initial price; there is no subscription or setup fee. Be aware that other services which the Roku streams, like Netflix and Amazon Prime have their own fees, but their are free advertisement driven services on the Roku.

No fees, but it helps to have an existing cable TV provider as some of the streaming features on some channels are more robust.

Never heard of such a thing! Just recently setup two (2) Roku 2's and didn't have to pay to do it. Some of the apps are chargeable but, as far as I know, there isn't a setup fee.
