No option to power off but it shuts itself off after a while.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You go back to the home screen and turn your TV off. The roku will shut off after a few minutes of inactivity. You have to be in the home screen though. I've left Netflix open, shut my TV off, and when I come back it's still on.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You are right, there is no physical or internal power switch. The unit, if you leave the remote alone or turn off the TV will "sleep" after a certain amount of time. Not perfect, but it reduces power consumption and heat generation.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You don't. When you turn on your TV you have to turn ROKU ON. So, if you don't want it on, don't use the Roku remote. Use regular TV remote to adjust channel.
