“Is this TV compatible with closed captions on DVDs? My current TV will show subtitles from DVDs, but not closed captions. A technician from Comcast said that Philips is one of the better brands for this, but I need to be sure.”

• Hi there, thanks for inquiring. While streaming, closed captions are available only when the service provider (e.g., Netflix, The Roku Channel, or Hulu) includes them with their content. Similarly, the DVD player and DVD must also include and decode the closed captions in order for them to be displayed on your TV. We hope this helps!
