• Roku now has a model express + that has audio/video cable (Red/White/Yellow) also with it to connect to older TV.

• No. HDMI interface standard was only released in 2002, probably not widely avialable in TVs for a few years after that. You need a TV with HDMI input. Buy a new TV.
