• Hello CMesa! Yes, the Roku Streambar will output sound from the TV regardless of the source.

• You can only hear DirecTV if your TV has an optical output (which is plugged into the Roku) or if the Roku is plugged into an HDMI port labeled ARC

• as long as your default sound source is the soundbar yes. or if you have the device plugged in with the optical cable instead of the ark HDMI input on your tv
