• I have a flat screen from 2008, you just have to have an HDMI plug.

• Yes as long as your TV has an HDMI port it makes a "dumb" TV smarter, although it doesn't turn it into a smart TV. It uses your wireless network to stream specific content sources on your TV without a wired connection between the TV and your router or phone/tablet/computer.

• So long as you have an hdmi port, external Internet and a power source it'll transform your tv into a smart one.
