• Yes - you need a 4K TV if you want to watch 4K - however it works fine with my old TV that is not 4K and I have a great picture on a Pioneer TV that is at least 5 years old. It was probably an over kill to get the 4K version, but I got it as a very good price. So, the answer to your question is no you don't need a 4K TV for this to work.

• This roku unit supports 4K and the auto detect feature works well with Samsung 4K TVs. Yes it does support the xfinity app if you activate it, it may require additional fees depending on your cable subscription plan.

• I don't know about Xfinity but you do not need a 4k tv. I don't have one and it works great.
